Low/High Key

Most Wednesdays I pretend to be in a Portrait photography class at my school. It's not to say that I'm not actually in a photo class at my school, because I am, I'm just not in that class. One day a boy in that class turned around and said, "why are you always in here if you're not even in the class?" and I told that boy, "I don't see anything wrong with wanting to learn more. especially when it's free! " I think that boy hates me. Nevertheless, The assignment for the class was to turn in two high key images and two low key images. This is sort of my try, even though I only did one of each. I tried using a model on the low key image, but it just wasn't working. So, it ended up being a self portrait, as always. maybe the high key has too much middle grey, but I don't know. Anyway, I didn't actually turn these in in the class, so here they are.

Teeth in the Glass

You may or (more than likely) may not remember the ceramics piece I brought to the Ceramics Conference in Davis last May. Regardless, last week I took her to Linda Vista, the Abandoned Hospital.

I love that little girl.

A Series of Most Fortunate Events

If you've noticed I haven't been posting as much, then I love you. If you didn't notice, then you're probably not here enough. But I don't blame you, because I'm not here enough either apparently. At any rate, I apologize. It may seem like I haven't been shooting (photography talk for taking pictures) but in actuality, it is just the opposite.

I have actually been working on a new series. My first series, in fact. Now, I don't want to talk about it too much because then I'd be giving it away, but I did want to tell you that I'm working on one.

I love people's faces. all people's faces. Everyone is so self conscious of what they look like, me included, but I wish we could all just not worry about it. Everyone is beautiful. You might think you're "funny looking" or whatever else, but you're not. you're beautifully normal. I love all of your faces. You are very attractive, and don't you forget it.

*the images above are not in the series, it's just something to show you.

Joshua Tree

My photography class went on a field trip to Joshua Tree a couple weeks back. I kept saying "I don't know what to take pictures of, I'm not a landscape photographer!" I also kept saying "I hate snakes, is that a snake?" and "why is that bee following me?". Even though I complained the whole time, I still enjoyed myself.

"I Found A Million Dollar Baby"

So, on a serious note, Human trafficking is a really bad problem these days. The best way to help out is just to be aware and spread the knowledge. If parents know, they can inform their children, and less children will be tricked into prostitution. If you're interested in getting involved or learning more, click here.
